Cancer Awareness Month Fundraising Ideas
We know that thinking of ways to fundraise can be hard. That’s why we’ve put
1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime. 12 of those diagnosed everyday are children, almost 20% of whom still don’t survive this awful disease.
You can support the team dedicated to funding specialist childhood cancer research, and help us beat it.
Together we will beat cancer for every child.
Learn more below about how you can also contribute to our cause and participate in our events and gatherings.
In September 2022, coinciding with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we aim to launch our first ever open grant call for research and educational projects that aim to understand cause of childhood cancer, improve current treatments and find a cure for all childhood cancers, especially the rarest.
We aim to embrace not just laboratory based and clinical trials research but to support a broad base of projects that will address the causation, care and cure for all childhood cancers and how these impact affected children and their families.
We are applying a holistic policy to our projects which may, for example, include scientific cancer research, epidemiology and etiology of cancer, social science and psychology or other approaches deemed to be of value, in particular those which address rare childhood cancers.
Our aim is to one day end childhood cancer.
Whether you are a scientific researcher, clinician, academist, nutritionist, psychologist, behavioural therapist we want to hear from you.
We want to create a community all focused on one goal: Making childhood cancer a thing of the past.
Not just for the children who live with childhood cancer, but their families, siblings, friends, and communities who are all touched by this awful disease.
We want to support holistic and pioneering projects that end childhood cancer through its cause, care and cure.
Look out for more information coming soon and please keep donating. We can’t do this without you and the support of the entire community.
Thank you!

The Childhood Cancer Charity has one aim, to end childhood cancer.
Forever.
Despite over £700m* invested, through public, private & statutory donations into cancer research every year, at present only a little over 2% of this funding goes into cancer research specifically for childhood and young people. This is £15m a year.
Worse still, of this only £5m is dedicated to research specifically for children under the age of 18.
We believe this is pitifully low as childhood cancer is largest single cause of death for children under the age of 15 in the UK today.
Whilst we acknowledge childhood cancer is rare, affecting around 4,500 children every year, and that for some types of childhood cancer, like Leukaemia and Central Nervous System Tumours, huge leaps in progress have been made, we believe every child’s life is worth fighting for, no matter how rare their form of childhood cancer is.
We believe the only way to stop children from dying of cancer today, and in the future, is to look holistically at the cause, care and cure of childhood cancer, and build a roadmap to eradicate this disease by investing in dedicated childhood cancer research.
